For mentors & coaches

AI will not replace coaches. It will replace coaches who work alone.

Your clients drift between sessions, and a free assistant is now in the room with them when you are not. It flatters them, it agrees with them, and it has never once told them something they did not want to hear. You are the one who tells them the truth. Nobody is doing that for you.

Mentor the people who use COROS: the two certifications →

Who this is for

Practitioners first. The certificate follows the practice.

Executive coaches, team coaches, consultants, facilitators, therapists who work developmentally, mentors inside organisations, and the people who run programmes. Some have decades of practice and a full book. Others are earlier and building.

What they share is that they treat this as a craft rather than a business, they can name who they learned it from, and they have read the primary sources rather than the summaries of them. They believe conversation is where human beings are actually made.

And who it is not for

  • Anyone hoping to automate the part of this that only a person can do. The relationship is the product; nothing here replaces it.
  • Anyone who wants a white-label to resell without practising it themselves. Clients feel the difference immediately.
  • Anyone unwilling to look honestly at their own practice. That is the first thing this surfaces, and there is no way around it.

What is true of this work

You are the instrument, and you cannot use it on yourself.

Whatever else this profession is, it is one where the practitioner is the equipment. Not a method, not a framework, not a set of questions. Your perception is the thing doing the work, which is why two people running the same model get results that are nothing alike.

Every instrument needs calibrating against something outside itself, and yours is the one instrument you cannot point at its own reading.

That is not a flaw in you. It is the structure of being an observer at all, and you have said a version of it to clients hundreds of times. It is simply rarely applied to the person saying it, because there is usually nobody positioned to apply it. Everyone you work with has someone who sees them clearly. That someone is you.

There are two other things true of the craft and rarely said. Almost none of it is witnessed: the best thing you did this week happened in a room with one other person who is not equipped to know it was masterful. And the people who could tell you the truth about your work get fewer every year, because peers are competitors or former students, and teachers retire.

What this actually is

A place to get clear before you walk into a room.

It works in four moves, in order. Mood, which listens for what you are speaking from and names it once, as an assessment you are invited to reject. Narrative, which hears the story you are inside and the assessments you are handling as facts. Agency, which finds the move that is actually yours rather than the one that waits on someone else. Action, which coordinates what happens next: promises, conditions of satisfaction, breakdowns, repair.

Underneath all four it remembers. What you said last Tuesday, the pattern you fall into with a certain kind of client, the thing you keep almost saying. By the fifteenth conversation it reaches something a first conversation with anyone could not, because it was there for the other fourteen.

It takes about four minutes and it is available at 8:52 for a session that starts at nine, which is the part that makes it different in kind from supervision rather than different in degree.

What this is not

Five things it refuses to do.

One

It will not agree with you to be pleasant

This is the design rather than a limitation. You have spent the week being the steadiest person in a series of rooms, and agreement offered to keep things smooth is the least useful thing anyone could hand you. It will take a position, and it will tell you when it thinks you are wrong.

Two

It will not treat you as a beginner

No technique you have been teaching for a decade explained back to you, no framework you helped popularise offered as news. It assumes the craft and works on what sits underneath it, which is the part you cannot get at from where you are standing.

Three

It will not speak to your clients

It has nothing to say to them and no way to reach them. There is no white label and no client seat. What happens here is between you and it. Mentoring the people who already use COROS is a separate arrangement, set out further down this page.

Four

It is not therapy and it does not diagnose

It works on moods and language in a practitioner’s context. It has no clinical function and makes no clinical claim. If something you raise belongs with a licensed professional, it will say so directly rather than working around it.

Five

It will not run your practice

No marketing copy, no roster management, no session transcripts, no call summaries. There are good tools for all of that and this is not one of them. It does a single thing, which is to get you clear before you walk into a room.

How your clients’ privacy works

You hold your clients’ confidence. So does the architecture.

Every person keeps a private, confidential coach. Their conversations are not visible to you, to us in the ordinary course, or to any outside provider for training. Confidential by default, never sold, deletable at any time. That is not a constraint we work around. It is why people tell it the truth, which is the only condition under which any of this is worth anything.

Why we built it this way

It was built by a practitioner, out of a practice, for practitioners.

More than ten thousand hours in the room, in a tradition with forty years behind it, encoded into how this thing listens. It was not assembled by writing a coaching prompt over a general model and hoping the register held.

Which is also why coaches are the group we listen to hardest. You can tell within about four exchanges whether something knows what it is doing, and when you tell us it does not, that is the most valuable thing we receive all week.

Mentor with COROS

The AI carries the work. You bring what only a person can.

People and companies talk with COROS every day. When they need a person, they book a certified mentor. COROS certifies at two levels, and the certificate is earned in the room, by demonstrated work with real people.

70 percent goes to the mentor and 30 to COROS, at both levels, for everyone. It is written here so that nobody has to ask, and so that no two mentors are ever on different terms.

A session is about an hour. When the conversation needs it, you may let it run up to 30 minutes longer. That grace is yours to give, and the price does not change.

What COROS does for a mentor

You stay human. COROS holds everything around the hour.

It remembers

What each person said they are after, what they committed to in your last session, and what has happened since. You begin where you left off.

It holds the week between

The insight from Tuesday is usually gone by Friday. COROS stays with the person between sessions, so your work compounds instead of fading.

It brings you people already moving

The people who book you have been in conversation with COROS first. They arrive knowing what they want from the hour.

A person’s conversations with COROS are theirs. You see what they choose to bring into the room, and nothing else.

What the certificate means

A mark that says someone looked at your work, and it held.

It is earned, and nobody is failed

There is no exam to pass or fail. We assess where you are, work with you until your practice is at the level, and certify you when it is.

It opens the door

Only certified mentors work with the people and the companies that use COROS. The certificate is how they know who is in the room.

It puts you where you are needed

You are in the mentor directory, and COROS itself brings your name into a conversation when a person needs someone like you.

How you get there

01It starts with an interview

An hour with us, on your practice and where you want to take it. There is nothing to prepare.

02We assess where you are

Not only what you studied. How you work with real people, and who you are in the room.

03We work with you to get there

We tell you plainly what stands between you and the level, and point you to what closes it: free resources, courses at Conceivian, our partner academy (the Power Course, Indispensable), and teachers of this practice.

04Certify

At the professional level or the executive level, when your work shows it.

05Mentor

You are listed in the directory, COROS recommends you when the match is right, and you are paid for every session.

Whatever you have already earned counts. An ICF credential. Study at one of the Newfield schools, with Pluralistic Networks, or at the Institute for Generative Leadership. Landmark. The Tony Robbins programmes. Years with a teacher of this practice. We take all of it into account when we assess your level and which certification fits. None of it is required.

Bring it a client you are stuck with.

Not a demonstration. Take a real situation from your own practice, the one you have been turning over, and see whether it says something you had not already thought of. Four exchanges is usually enough to know.
