Founding Backend & DevOps Engineer

What You’ll Do

Architect and build our backend services using Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Prisma ORM.
Design and optimize API endpoints to support real-time communication and complex data flows.
Handle authentication/authorization logic (OAuth, session management, or JWT).
Lead or co-lead DevOps tasks: set up CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure (Azure, Docker/Kubernetes), monitoring, and logging.
Contribute to scalability via potential microservices architecture.
Implement security best practices, handle database backups, and keep everything humming under heavy load.

Who You Are

3+ years in production environments building complex backend systems.
Strong Node.js/TypeScript background with a knack for building robust APIs.
Proficient with PostgreSQL and comfortable working with Prisma or similar ORMs.
Skilled in DevOps fundamentals—containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and cloud providers (preferably Azure).
You’ve worked with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions or similar) and possibly used Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
You enjoy the challenges of designing and scaling backend systems, with a focus on speed, reliability, and security.
A true team player who’s excited to shape product vision and jump into an agile, fast-paced startup environment.

Bonus Points

Experience with advanced microservices architecture, event-driven systems, or message queues.
Knowledge of advanced security frameworks, SSO, or identity management.
You’ve thrived in an early-stage startup or zero-to-one product environment.
